Mathare Elections

Time for voting

Finally Mathare people have their own constituency; Mathare. This will mean that people will elect a new Member of Parliament along with six ward assembly representatives. The two new wards that have createted are Hospital and Ngei wards. The other wards are Mlango Kubwa, Mabatini, Huruma and Kiamaiko

There is alot of political movements on the ground. People who so far come forward seeking parliamentary seat are the current councillor for Kiamaiko ward Mr. George Wanjohi, former Mathare aspirant during KANU era Mr. David Irungu, a Huruma resident Mr. Francis Mbai and the son of the current MP for Starehe Kariuki popularly known as K1.

In 2013 the people will make their choice. for now it is for the aspirant both for county assembly representatives and members of parliament to convince the electorates why they are suitable. – simon

  2. Hey there, just became alerted to your blog through Google, and found that it is really informative. I will appreciate if you continue this in future. A lot of people will be benefited from your writing. Cheers!

  3. Am glad i found this blog though by chance. I want to take issue with the son of the current M.P K1 dude where is the money to fund your campaign coming from ‘mummy’? As far as i know most people in the age group you are in are either jobless or ‘hustling’ that is leaving from hand to mouth. No wonder most CDF projects have stalled. VOTE WISELY wanaMATHARE.

  4. A slight correction 🙂 Mr.David Irungu is actually now running for COUNTY REPRESENTATIVE seat for Mathare Constituency,Hospital ward and NOT M.P.
Today is their nomination(TNA party)! This guy’s work,Davie speaks for itself. It has been noted that when he was in KANU (As you have rightfully stated),his record at City Hall shows that he created employment for nearly 400 youths yet the guy was there for only 10months! NOW THAT’S A RECORD THAT SPEAKS FOR ITSELF! THAT’S A RECORD WORTH NOTING!!!

These are the kind of leaders that us Kenya needs.Leaders who don’t believe in bribing the voter for that one election day but rather empowering them for the next 5years that they will be in leadership position!

Vote for this man and you will surely be voting for experience rather than just experimenting your vote on people who have not been tried, tested and passed the integrity test! Vote Davie for County Rep,Mathare 2013!

  5. I believe a continued coverage of the Party Nominations will enhance this page. If objectively done it will arm Mathare resident with requisite knowledge of who is running for the various posts as mentioned above. It will also highlight the losers in the Party Primaries and the victors. In so doing, it will alert the residents of who won what primary and who they will be running against. As such, Mathare residents can in the next month listen and observe them closely in order to elect their first MP and woman Representative. I will be watching the space.
